Open Ice 2016 games (Ulkojäät 2016) were held in Tampere Sorsapuisto. Three teams participated: Ilves (host team), Tappara and HIFK.
Patrik Laine
Laine was taken with the second overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Jets.
Three seasons, three finals
Jussi Tapola was Tappara’s head coach from 2014 to 2017. Tappara was playing in the Finals every year, winning the Finnish Elite League twice.
